There are many, rational, emotional and medical reasons for moving patients out of hospital ICU and providing them with critical care at home.

You will have many questions that need answering, we will do our best to answer these as completely as possible. We will provide you with information from physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other home care services health care professionals – in short, the team of specialists and health care professionals who will be managing this condition at home. Typically, the team will comprise a group of highly qualified and experienced home health care professionals.

Respiratory care practitioners: Specially trained health care professionals who help to treat and re-establish respiratory function for patients with airway and breathing problems. Their expertise is utilized to evaluate and handle patients with the following conditions:

  • Tracheotomy tubes and oxygen therapy

  • Chronic heart and lung problems that require breathing treatment and help

  • Other healthcare professionals

  • Nursing care for patients on CPAP or BiPAP and/or High Flow Oxygen Therapy

  • Total parental nutrition
  • Internal feeding
  • Infusion therapy
  • Bowel and bladder management
  • Maintaining skin integrity
  • Safety Assessment
  • Medication Instruction And Management

EQUIPMENT USED AT HOME FOR THE PATIENT

For patients who require tracheotomy care, we will provide the following equipment:

  • Suction apparatus
  • Suction catheter
  • Oxygen cylinder or Oxygen concentrator (If a patient requires oxygen support)
  • Pulse oximeter
  • Vital monitoring equipment such as a cardiac monitor

SERVICES OFFERED UNDER CRITICAL CARE PLAN

Based on the treating doctor’s recommendation, a critical care plan is developed for each patient, and the service packages are tailor-made to suit the requirement of the patient and the patient’s family. The service packages offered under the critical care plan include:

  • 12-24 hours of nursing support provided by nurses who have a minimum of 2-years nursing experience and critical care training
  • 12-24 hours of medical caretaker support
  • Equipment rental, based on requirement – may include a ventilator, suction machine, monitor, hospital bed, etc.
  • Consumables (paid for by the patient) – when available
